Take and Bake Instructions

Petaluma Pie Company offers an assortment of frozen Take and Bake savory pot pies and hand pies. Take and Bake pies are a great option for nights when you don’t feel like cooking or if you are hosting a party. Chicken pot pie, beef empanadas, chicken empanadas, mushroom and goat gouda hand pies and more. We try our best to stock all of the hand pies and pot pies on the menu but pies do sell out. It’s best to order online call ahead to reserve the pies you want. Otherwise, just come to our store and see what we have available.

Instructions for Take and Bake 

Pot Pies:

Keep pie frozen. Cooking time will vary according to your oven.

    1. Pre-heat oven to 375 (350 for convection)
    2. Cover pie with foil and bake on a sheet pan or cookie sheet for about 45 min.
    3. Remove foil, continue baking until light brown.
    4. Apply egg and/or milk wash*(optional) and bake til crust is golden and filling is bubbling. Total cooking time will be 60-90 min. (in a pre-heated oven) depending on your oven.

Hand Pies:

Keep pie frozen. Cooking time will vary according to your oven.

    1. Pre-heat oven to 375. (350 for convection)
    2. Place hand pies on parchment paper on a sheet pan or cookie sheet.
    3. Brush on egg and/or milk wash * on the pies. (Optional)
    4. Bake until crust is golden, about 35-45 min. depending on your oven.

*To make egg wash beat one egg and mix in 1/4 cup of milk or use plain milk or cream
